Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m). On arrival, meet assist and transfer to Hotel. Remaining day at leisure.

PM: Sightseeing tour of Patan City and Tibetan Refugee Camp.

Kathmandu – Lukla (2827m) - Phakding (2652m)
Transfer to airport. Fly to Lukla (2834 m) from Kathmandu a small airstrip in the Everest area. Start trekking upon arrival and walk through Chaumrikharka upto Dudhkosi Valley. Camp at Phakding just beside the Dudhkoshi River. (Walking hours - 4). |

Monjo (2835m)
Walk through Hillary way and crossing the Pass to Monjo. In Monjo, we arrive at the entry point of the Sagarmatha National Park.

|
Namche bazaar (3446m)
Today’s walk includes a steep climb to Namche bazaar, the largest settlement in the Khumbu area. The rest of the day is spent at Namche exploring this quaint village. If we happen to be there on a Saturday, we can witness the weekly market, which besides offering different merchandise to the neighboring villagers also is an important social event for the shapers. (Walking hours - 4). |

Rest day in Namche bazaar for acclimatization. Visit local bazaar. |

Thame (3850 m)
We walk to the west to reach Thame. On a clear day, breathtaking views of Ama Dablam, Kwangde, Thamserku, Thamserku and Kusum Kanguru. Worth visiting is the Thame Monastery which lies on the old Pilgrims route to Tibet. |

Khumjung (3790m)
To Khumjung which is one of the most beautiful Sherpa Village. From here again good view of Ama Dablam, the most beautiful mountain |

Phortse
First downhill to Dudh Kosi river and then uphill (about 700 m) to Phortse. |

Thyangboche (3867m)
We take the direct route to Thyangboche via the small village of Phunki from where the trail climbs steeply as it follows the side of a hill up to the saddle on which the Thyangboche monastery is located. View of Everest is simply splendid. The main monastery in Thayngboche burned down a few years ago and a new one has been built very recently. (Walking hours - 5). |

Dingboche (4360m)
We follow the trail below Pangboche and crossing the Imja Khola we arrive at Dingboche. (walking hours 5). |

Rest day at Dingboche or excursion to Chukhung
For those feeling fit can take a short excursion to Chhukung to view the island peak, Ama Dablam, and Kang Teka. |

Lobuje (4930m)
From Dingboche the trail ascends steeply to Dughla, just across a small bridge over the Khumbu Khola. From Dughla the trail climbs higher onto the moraine and then drops slightly following the trail to the West Side of the valley to Lobuje. Sunset on Nuptse seen from Lobuje is a memorable sight. (walking hours 4). |

Gorakshep (5184m):
Following the trail towards the West Side of the broad Khumbu valley, we ascend gently through meadows beside the glacial moraine. The ascent soon becomes steeper and then drops sharply to the sandy flat expanse of Gorakshep a small lake, which is usually frozen. (walking hours 4). |

Gorakshep -Kala Pattar or Everest Base Camp -Dughla
For those not plagued by the altitude a climb to Kala Pattar (5545m) or an attempt the Everest base camp (5360m) in the early morning is one of the most rewarding experiences. From the top of Kala Pattar one can see the entire Everest south face, Changtse (north face of Everest) and an unobstructed view of the south col. Excursion to Everest base camp will take 6 hours round-trip following the route to the Khumbu glacier sometime on the moraine and sometimes on the glacier itself Descent back to Lobuje and further on to Dughla. |
